It does not unlock bridges, although pedestrians go through barriers, you cannot and when going to the other islands, still get a four star wanted level.

It unlocks clothing stores, modding stores, all markers used in missions (including once you could never enter outside of missions) and a lot of sidemissions.
It only unlocks a few houses NOT EVERYTHING!!!!!!
